Official Update: Paper-Based IELTS Ends in Bangladesh on Feb 1st, 2026
Paper-Based IELTS is officially coming to a close in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is moving fully toward digital testing as the paper-based IELTS exam will no longer be available nationwide. From February 1, 2026, all British Council and IDP test centers in Bangladesh will conduct IELTS only in a computer-delivered format. This change applies to all candidates planning to take the IELTS exam in Bangladesh. What This Change Means for IELTS Candidates The IELTS exam format remains unchanged. Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking sections will stay the same, and the scoring system will also remain exactly as it is. The only difference is that candidates will now take the test on a computer instead of using pen and paper.
